Pure Talents bilingual emcee Danny Yeo hosted Boon Lay community’s largest-ever gathering – a fundraiser dinner event to raise funds for ComCare, activities and provisions for families in need, senior citizens as well as school children. He paired up for the very first time with veteran female host Doreen.
Guest of honour for the evening was Minister Lawrence Wong, accompanied by the organising committee chairman Nr Ng Poh Wah.
Besides having a silent auction for artworks placed in the foyer, the evening also saw Minister Wong going onstage to raise funds by playing guitar with the band EIC. After performing three songs, he raised a total of $100,000 from enthusiastic donors and supporters present.
Minister Wong also auctioned off his calligraphy piece which fetched $20,000, along with Dr Ho Kah Leong’s oil painting The Malay House adding $28,000 to the funds raising for Boon Lay community.
