This was an event that was the talk-of-the-town for weeks after its initial launch. Chef In Box – Singapore’s First Vendcafe at Anchorvale Drive was initiated by JR Group with the support of Spring Singapore and HDB, along with other partners including Ang Mo Kio Town Council, Sengkang West CCC, Anchorvale CC, Sengkang West Zone B, as well as sponsors including NETS, UOB, M1, Coca Cola, F&N, Yeo’s, Pokka and Frosts Foods.
Chef In Box is curated by JR Group to bring hot ready meals to the community at your convenience, at your doorstep. Chef-in-Box Vendcafe hot food vending machines are state-of-the-art and the first of its kind in Singapore and the region. Chef In Box VendCafe bento meals are thoughtfully prepared by a team of chefs and come in a wide variety of flavours. These include local delights, as well as Western, Malay, Indian and Japanese cuisines. Chef in Box uses cutting-edge cook-freeze technology and an efficient process, so that all the ingredients’ freshness and nutrients are sealed and retained. Chef in Box VendCafe caters to those looking for a healthier meal solution, 24/7.
The initiative was strongly supported by the Guest of Honour, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam. He strongly back Founder and CEO of JR Group Ms Jocelyn Chng’s idea of bringing vending machines to HDB communities.
