Gala Premiere of The Road To Mandalay 再见瓦城
at the 27th Singapore International Film Festival

Pure Talents bilingual emcees Danny Yeo (Yang Junwei) and Lin Baofeng paired up to host the Special Presentation of an award-winning film The Road To Mandalay at the 27th Singapore International Film Festival.
For the year 2016, SGIFF ran from 23rd November to 4th December, celebrating the stories of Asia, Southeast Asia, and the world through the art of cinema. SGIFF is the largest and longest-running film event in Singapore. The theme for 2016 is “Telling Our Stories”. The 27th SGIFF presented 161 films from 52 countries. The selection included 16 world premieres, 9 international premieres and 18 Asian premieres across the 13 different festival sections.
This Special Presentation Film received its Singapore premiere that very night.
The Road To Mandalay is a harrowing depiction of the exploitative conditions and experiences of Burmese illegal migrants. Millions of them have crossed their country’s border into Thailand looking for work and fleeing the civil war in recent years. It has won a handful of international awards and accolades.
The filmmakers and cast of The Road To Mandalay were present at the screening: Director, Midi Z 趙德胤, Producer Patrick Mao, Leading Actor Kai Ko 柯震東, and Leading Actress Wu Ke-Xi 吴可熙.
