Pure Talents veteran bilingual emcee Danny Yeo is honoured to be the emcee for the celebration of SCCC’s first anniversary and launch of the SCCC Cultural Extravaganza 2018. At the sane event, there was also the awards presentation ceremony of the Singapore Chinese Cultural Contribution Award – both Individual and Group categories.
Conferred by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Contribution Award recognises individuals and organisations from various cultural sectors, who have made outstanding contributions in the promotion, enrichment, propagation and development of Singapore’s Chinese culture. Mr Liu Thai Ker, Chairman of the Judging Committee of the Singapore Chinese Cultural Contribution Award gave the opening speech and together with Guest-of-Honour, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Grace Fu and Chairman of the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, Mr Chua Thian Poh, they presented the awards to the recipients. The recipient for the Individual Category is veteran musician Mr Lee Yuk Chuan and the recipient for the Group Category is the Singapore Association of Writers.
The SCCC Cultural Extravaganza 2018 brings together various art forms, music and emotions that aim to move, excite and inspire everyone. The opening act was Masters of Comedy which celebrates the stories of the iconic comedians in Singapore. The audience was entertained by the comedy show of song and dance. Through different generations of comedy stars over the years, we gained insights into the dramatic evolution of local culture and the glorious development of Singapore television entertainment scene.
