Singapore Chinese Orchestra Community Concert Series
In Harmony With Nature at Pasir Ris Park
With Conductor Quek Ling Kiong 郭勇德
27 Feb 2016 (Sat), 6pm – 7pm
Pure Talents bilingual emcee Baofeng hosted Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) Community Concert Series – In Harmony with Nature A Musical Adventure at Pasir Ris Park. This community series was proudly organised by SCO in collaboration with the National Parks Board as part of the Community in Nature initiative. The conductor for the concert was Mr Quek Ling Kiong.
Being the only professional Chinese orchestra in Singapore, SCO has achieved various significant milestones such as successful overseas tours and creating two Guinness World Records, while preserving traditional arts and culture and establishing new frontiers since 1997. On top of all, this year also marks the 20th Anniversary for the SCO.
The day’s line-up explored specially selected adventure and nature themed pieces. Singapore is widely recognised as a green and clean city. We can see numerous parks, nature reserves and tree-lined roads everywhere. Even as Singapore continues to develop rapidly, we have to be mindful of conserving Singapore’s rich biodiversity. In conjunction with NParks’ Community in Nature (CIN) Initiative, SCO hopes to connect and engage the community to conserve Singapore’s natural heritage.
