Singapore Chinese Orchestra Lunchtime Concerts
Musical Bento Box 便当音乐会
UOB Atrium, UOB Plaza 大华银行大厦中庭
19 & 20 May 2016 (Thu & Fri), 12pm – 1pm
Pure Talents bilingual host Lin Baofeng served as the emcee for two lunchtime concerts at UOB Plaza’s open atrium. She was glad to collaborate once again with Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) after having hosted a few of their events including Concert in the Park series.
The conductor for both days was Maestro Quek Ling Kiong. The lunchtime concert series was supported by United Overseas Bank and Sichuan Douhua.
Being the only professional Chinese orchestra in Singapore, SCO has achieved various significant milestones. These include successful overseas tours and creating two Guinness World Records, while preserving traditional arts and culture as well as establishing new frontiers since 1997.
Audience members were encouraged to bring along their bento boxes and enjoy Chinese music playing at the same time. On the sides, Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant sold bento sets for the busy office workers in the area.
The large crowd from nearby offices was entertained by a refreshing repertoire of classics, new interpretations as well as familiar tunes.
