Pure Talents veteran emcee Danny Yeo returns as the designated host for this important annual national event. Danny has been the selected bilingual emcee for PUB’s Singapore World Water Day since 2010. We are proud to be a reliable partner working alongside trusted companies and colleagues in event management for the past 7 years.
Singapore World Water Day 2016 had more than 400 partners island-wide who came together to “Make Every Drop Count” in their own ways. There were also more than 200 island-wide activities by the community for the community.
The morning started with a zumba workout session led by True Fitness instructors, which got everyone warmed up for the highlight of the day – placard formation of a giant Water Wally, Singapore’s very own water mascot.
The guest-of-honour for the event was Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr Masagos Zulkifli. Also attending the event was Chief Executive of PUB, Mr Ng Joo Hee.
The audience were visibly entertained by a lively dance performed by 20 children from PCF Sparkletots Preschool.
The theme for 2016 is Make Every Drop Count. Some tips for water saving include:
- taking 5-minute showers, turning off the water while you shampoo and soap yourself
- using a mug when you brush your teeth instead of letting the tap run
- washing clothes on a full load and washing dishes and vegetables in a container instead of under a running tap
- using a bucket when you wash your car instead of a hose
