Danny Yeo was the bilingual emcee for the Official Opening Ceremony of Suntec City. The occasion marks a significant milestone for Suntec Reit with Minister for Social and Family Development Mr Tan Chuan-Jin as the Guest of Honour.
The renovation at Suntec City has been one of the largest works ever undertaken in Singapore – an asset enhancement initiative of $410 million dollars. The remaking of Suntec City commenced in June 2012 and was completed in June 2015. Suntec City remains the largest integrated ‘city within a city’. It comprises of a convention centre, five office towers and a shopping mall.
At the event, Suntec Reit also presented a cheque of $200,000 to Minister Tan for the President’s Challenge 2015 beneficiaries. It will benefit Voluntary Welfare Organisations from different sectors.
After the official opening ceremony, guests were treated to a cocktail reception with 13 live stations and close to 40 delectable items, prepared by in-house team led by Executive Chef Alfred Lee and his crew. The Mario Serio Trio also gave a lovely performance of jazz numbers.
Guests were later invited to visit the new dining concept at Sky Garden, a unique dining destination within a charming garden concept. It directly links Suntec Singapore Convention Centre to the Retail Mall where guests can relax and chill out with both al fresco and indoor options.
